Star Jasmine 'Star Jasmine'

  • Fragrant white flowers in summer
  • Evergreen climber
  • Ideal for a sheltered sunny wall

Trachelospermum jasminoides (star jasmine) is an evergreen climber with woody stems that will twine around wire supports with a little training. Clusters of starry white flowers appear in summer, with a heady fragrance that is most noticeable in the evenings.

In mild areas, star jasmine can be grown outdoors in well-drained, fertile soil, against a sunny sheltered wall. In areas with very cold winters (below -10°C/14°F) it is best grown as a conservatory plant.

Water regularly from spring to autumn and apply a general-purpose fertiliser in spring.

Prune in spring if necessary to remove damaged or over-crowded stems and to keep to the desired size.
