Cauliflower Seeds 'Skywalker'

  • Cold-tolerant variety
  • Heads well protected from weather
  • Dense white curds
  • Keeps its texture well when cooked

Cauliflower ‘Skywalker’ is an excellent autumn-cropping variety, more cold-tolerant than most cauliflower varieties with tight, self-wrapped heads well protected from the worst of the weather. The dense white curds have good flavour and keep their texture well when cooked.

Sow indoors

February-April: Sow seeds thinly 1cm (1/2in) deep in clean trays or modules filled with firm pre-watered compost. Keep compost moist at all times.

Sow outdoors

March-May: Sow seeds thinly 1cm (1/2in) deep on a seed bed or clean trays or modules filled with firm pre-watered compost. Keep soil moist at all times. Overwinter late sowings in a cloche or cold frame. Thin to 10cm (4in).

Plant out

March-June: Plant out into the required harvest position 45cm (18in) apart with 45cm (18in) between each row when plants have 3-4 true leaves.

Tips

Cauliflowers should be grown in firm soil. Protect from Cabbage White butterfly with netting.
